Ondarreta at ARCO 2025, by Mesura

We have once again participated in the international contemporary art fair ARCO, held in Madrid earlier this month. For this edition, the architecture studio in charge of designing the Guest Lounge was Mesura, with a concept aimed at exploring the intrinsic dualities of the jungle environment: density and clarity, darkness and light, wilderness and community.

'Workspace Design', Madrid

Am 4. Februar findet "Workspace Design, Madrid" im COAM, dem Architektenverband der Hauptstadt, statt. Eine Veranstaltung, bei der verschiedene nationale Marken ihre Produktvorschläge für Arbeitsräume präsentieren. Sie können sich kostenlos über DIESEN LINK für die Veranstaltung anmelden. Ondarreta lidera el proyecto ECOALTZA

Ondarreta leitet das ECOALTZA-Projekt, das von der Abteilung für wirtschaftliche Entwicklung, Nachhaltigkeit und Umwelt der baskischen Regierung und von der Europäischen Union, dem Europäischen Fonds für regionale Entwicklung (EFRE), finanziert wird. Das Hauptziel des Projekts ist die Entwicklung ökologischer Möbel aus Materialien aus Biomasse, sowohl auf der Ebene der Basispolymere als auch der eingesetzten Verstärkungsmaterialien, zur Entwicklung grüner Produkte aus kompostierbaren Materialien.

Participation in the CORTEX Project

At Ondarreta, we are participating in the CORTEX project, which focuses on developing new eco-design solutions to make the textile sector more sustainable. This is achieved through the experimental development of new materials that can contribute to facilitating the recovery of textiles at the end of the life cycle of the products in which they are incorporated. The project is funded by the Department of Economic Development, Sustainability, and Environment of the Basque Government and the European Union, through the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER).

100% Carbon footprint offset

In 2023, at Ondarreta, we voluntarily offset 100% of the carbon footprint generated in 2022. This achievement is certified through our collaboration with Naturklima, the Climate Change Foundation of Gipuzkoa, reaffirming our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Radio San Sebastián Excellence Awards

The seventh edition of the "Radio San Sebastián Excellence Awards" was held at the Kursaal, where our brand received the award in the business category. According to the jury, it was granted for our commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability. We are very grateful for this special recognition—eskerrik asko!

At Downtown Design, Dubai

From Ondarreta, we are pleased to announce our participation in the Downtown Design fair in Dubai, held from November 6th to 9th. You can find our products at stand B14, a collective exhibition space designed by B8 Architecture, showcasing the latest collections from some of the most renowned Spanish interior design brands. This initiative is organised by ICEX.

Susplas Project for the Incorporation of New Sustainable Materials

At Ondarreta, we are participating in the SUSPLAS project, funded by the Department of Economic Development, Sustainability, and Environment of the Basque Government and the European Union, through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The project's main goal is to incorporate sustainable polymeric materials into design furniture to replace virgin plastic and model circular businesses by configuring a new local value chain. See you at Orgatec, Cologne

We are already finalising the preparations for the Orgatec fair in Cologne, which will take place from October 22 to 25. In this edition, we will present our new products at a new stand, located, as in previous editions, in Hall 10.2, Stand 001. We are very much looking forward to this event!

Ondarreta at the San Sebastián Film Festival

Our furniture pieces also made their way to the red carpet during this year's edition of the San Sebastián Film Festival. The occasion was our collaboration with Vanity Fair magazine and the grand party they organized alongside Armani Beauty. Hábitat Valencia 2024

Once again, Ondarreta will be participating in the Feria Hábitat Valencia, which will take place from September 30th to October 3rd. Hari at the ‘Spanish Landscapes’ exhibition in Taiwan

Ondarreta is participating in an exhibition organized by the Taiwan Design Research Institute and OdosDesign (Valencia), highlighting the contemporary essence of Spanish design. Our Hari chair, like each piece on display, reflects the respect Spanish designers have for their roots while exploring and contributing to the future of global design.

3 Days of Design, Copenhague

The 12, 13 and 14th of June we will be in the Danish capital to participate in 3 Days of Design, an event where designers, architects, manufacturers and design enthusiast get together to share and discover the latest trends in the design world. En Neocon con Hightower

Hightower, our US partner, is participating in the upcoming Neocon show from the 10th until the 12th of June. This event, celebrated yearly in Chicago is renowned for being the most relevant event in the commercial design industry of the country. As well as in previous editions, Hightower has selected Ondarreta furniture for its showroom space.

Antwerp Design Week

Antwerp Design Week offers a fresh design experience for professionals as brands open their headquarters and temporary locations around the city, creating inspiring hubs, from the 2nd to the 7th of June. Ondarreta products will have their own display area at the Cosentino showroom, where you will find our latest collections, such as Ginger by Sebastian Herkner and Supra by Note (design studio). ‘The Design Workspace’, Madrid

On May 22nd, 'The Design Workspace' will be held at the Reina Sofia Museum, a key event where various national brands will present our latest product launches for smart and functional workspaces. Presentation of Supra Fumé with Ferran Adrià

Last Wednesday, we presented in Barcelona the special edition SUPRA FUMÉ hand in hand with Ferran Adrià and the elBullifoundation. The starting idea contained a very clear premise: to design the ideal chair for the chefs of the elBullifoundation, adaptable to any gastronomic environment. Ergonomic, stackable, versatile, lightweight, economical, and resistant, with a design adaptable to different finishes. The special edition, Supra Fumé, is a creative intervention in the Supra collection by Ondarreta, originally designed by the Swedish studio Note with an innovative translucent finish that reflects the colour of smoke.

Salone del Mobile, Milano 2024

En esta última edición del Salone del Mobile de Milán hemos presentado nuestras nuevas colecciones de producto en un espacio diseñado por Pensando en blanco, en una instalación que interactuaba dinámicamente a partir de unas imponentes estructuras metálicas que abrazaban una repetición de carcasas de la colección SUPRA (diseñada por Note Design Studio). Próximamente revelaremos más información sobre la nueva colección de sofás modulables GUMI, diseñada por Made Studio, o la familia MIBU de Nadia Arratibel.

Entrega del Premio Nacional de Diseño

On April 11th, the National Design Award ceremony was held, where Nora and Nadia Arratibel (Commercial and Product Directors respectively) received the award from Diana Morant, Minister of Science and Innovation, and Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain at the Miller Building in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The award was granted to Ondarreta as a representative of excellence in furniture design, research, innovation, environmental and social sustainability, and engagement with the local community as its distinguishing features. From Ondarreta we are very grateful for this acknowledgment.

Milán, ¡allá vamos!

Next Tuesday marks the beginning of a new edition of the Salone del Mobile Milano, which will take place from April 16th to 21st. From Ondarreta, we are presenting alongside Pensando en Blanco a new exhibition space where furniture and its materiality challenge established conventions. Ondarreta at Arco 2024

At Ondarreta, we are once again collaborating with Arco, the country's leading contemporary art fair. This edition, Burr's team has been in charge of designing Arco's Guest Lounge with a concept that focuses on the shore and the tide, terms that define the boundary between sea and land, as an undefined space, 'representing the changes we are experiencing and those yet to come.' This space is furnished with Hari chairs made of 100% recycled polypropylene, and Juno tables.

Uda, by Helena Rohner at Valentina shop

Last Thursday, November 30th, we presented UDA, the low table collection designed by Helena Rohner for Ondarreta at Valentina shop (Bergara 16, Donostia). These pieces are defined by their organic and sinuous lines of the metal structure of the table, creating a simple and sculptural design wherever they are placed. The store will showcase its shopwindow and an interior exhibition dedicated to the collection until January 7th.

Supra, by Note (design studio)

A few weeks before including SUPRA in our product catalogue, the team at Note (design studio), designers of this collection, came to visit us and together in a less than 150 km journey, we went step by step through the whole Supra chair production process with them. In Ondarreta, we are immensely happy and grateful to have received the 2023 National Design Award from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. This is a recognition of a family project that has been going on for over 50 years, and it fills us with special joy because it acknowledges the effort and work that a whole team of people has been doing all these years. None of this would be possible without the support of the collaborators that accompany us on this journey: designers, clients, suppliers (and all of you who are in one way or another part of this Ondarreta universe): thank you very much for your support! This award pushes us to keep moving forward and fills us with energy and excitement to face the challenges that await us.

Ondarreta collaborates with “Lur Live Festibala”

The spectacular Lur Garden outdoor space near our headquarters, hosts the first edition of Lur Garden Live Festival from the 10th – 14th of August. One of the many different activities organised for those days is a photo contest with the chance to win an IKA as a prize. The contest is opened to everyone visiting the gardens during the festival. Ondarreta at Hábitat exhibition in Valencia 19 - 22 September

Event though there is still summertime ahead, the Ondarreta team is already in the midst of preparations for Habitat Exhibition in Valencia, that kicks off on the 19th of September. Ondarreta at Neocon with Hightower

Hightower, our US partner, has participated in the latest edition of NeoCon. This event, celebrated yearly in Chicago is renowned for being the most relevant event in the commercial design industry of the country. As well as in previous editions, Hightower selected Ondarreta furniture for its showroom space.

Design and Innovation Award by Fuera de Serie

Today we are celebrating that IKA has been awarded with the Design and Innovation Award by Fuera de Serie magazine in the furniture category.
From Ondarreta we are very happy to see that this design by Arquimaña keeps receiving acknowledgements, as this prize is added to the ADI FAD and Red Dot Award from 2022.

Design District is one of the biggest interior and furniture design events celebrated in Rotterdam, that brings together innovative designs and industry professionals. Salone del Mobile 2023

For the Salone del Mobile 2023 edition, being hold from the 18th until the 23rd of April, from Ondarreta we present a new expositive space that we hope you will find surprising, welcoming and honest. Design with Note studio, this installation rich in details and tonality, receives the extensive new collection of Supra seats, also designed by the Swedish studio, as well as Ginger family of tables, lounge and chairs designed by Sebastian Herkner. Ondarreta at Arco 2023

From Ondarreta we collaborate once again with Arco, the most relevant contemporary art fair of the country. This year’s proposal for the ‘Guest Lounge’ is VERBENA, conceived by Hanghar and estudio DIIR and inspired by popular festivals as the representation of the joy, interaction and creativity, very present in the Mediterranean culture, in reference to the central topic of this edition: ‘The Mediterranean: a round sea’. This space is equipped with Supra chairs, Ginger Lounge and Juno low tables.  

UDA at the Women x Women exhibition

The exhibition “Women x Women” commissioned by Marisa Santamaría, opened last week at 2B space to be, a place by Moneo Brock architectural studio. This product display gathers fifteen pieces by fifteen different woman designers with a common element, the commitment for integrated and organic sustainability approached design. The UDA low table, designed by Helena Rohner will be displayed in this space.

Our new Ginger chair designed by Sebastian Herkner shares pages with the Spanish artist Rigoberta Bandini in an interview published in the latest print issue of Neo2 Magazine. Uda, por Helena Rohner para Ondarreta en MINIM Madrid

El pasado jueves 15 de diciembre presentamos UDA, la nueva colección de mesas bajas diseñada por Helena Rohner para Ondarreta. Unas piezas que se caracterizan por sus líneas orgánicas y sinuosas que definen la estructura metálica de la mesa y que trazan un dibujo simple y escultural allá donde se sitúen. MINIM Madrid dedicará su escaparate en Paseo Castellana 92 a esta nueva colección hasta el día 16 de enero.

Basque Design Up en Biarritz

Ondarreta at “Scenes from the near future”

From the 23rd of November until the 19th of March, “Scenes from the near future” exhibition will be shown in Valencia. An expositive project commissioned by Tachy Mora, focussed on product and material proposals to make our homes more flexible and versatile and adapted to our new lifestyles. Ondarreta has presented Ola Plus, a reinterpretation of our Ola divider, designed by Silvia Ceñal,  with added functionalities that allows configuring spaces in a non-permanent way.
