ONDARRETA + HARRIS TWEED
(+)In early 2020, Nadia Arratibel, Ondarreta’s head designer, travelled from the Basque Country to Lewis and Harris Island in Scotland, in what would turn out to be her last trip before the pandemic. Following the rhythmic sound of weavers scattered throughout the island, Nadia takes the last boat to Harris in an attempt to discover the simple truth of the origin and worth of Harris Tweed®, one of the most appreciated fabrics in the world. As the ship set sail, she enjoys the power of nature, solitude and rain, and reflects upon meaning and balance in the relationship between nature, industry and human beings.

ONDARRETA NEWS : ADG-FAD LAUS AWARDS
(+)Laus & ADI Awards
2020DESIGN, in all its forms, is an essential part of the work that the Ondarreta family does. A commitment that has been recognised with ADI and LAUS awards, both organised by associations members of FAD (The Fostering Arts and Design association). Two of our products – Alo Outdoor chair, in the outdoor equipment category, and Silu chair in the Indoors Equipment one – have been awarded with Bronze at the ADI Awards. On the other hand, a selection of Ondarreta brand identity elements developed with the team at Pensando en Blanco, such as our Brandbook and the editorial ‘Spirit of Things’ have received the Gold at the Laus awards. We are incredibly grateful for the recognition! -
